Liver surgery
The liver is one of the key human organs, which has complex significance in our daily lives. At the same time, it performs a lot of important functions – secretes bile, takes part in metabolic processes, and the process of hematopoiesis. And this is far not a full list of its functions. Separately we should also highlight the presence of such an organ like the gallbladder, which forms a kind of organ complex with the liver. A person may be brought to the surgeons by many different liver pathologies:
- Liver neoplasms;
- Liver cysts;
- Parasitic lesions;
- Congenital abnormalities of the liver;
- Biliary stone disease;
- Cholecystitis; аnd many other pathologies.
It should be said that in our time it is not necessary to do open access liver surgery(open the front abdominal wall completely). Laparoscopic techniques can be used as well. After their use, a patient has less painful sensations in the postoperative period and, statistically, much fewer complications.
